Here's Chrissie, my most recently adopted cat. She is so round that the vet thought she was pregnant. When weeks went by without issue he shaved her and found a spay scar. She just has a spare tire around the middle.
I share a household with six cats, three of them Felines of Unusual Size.
Nickel - 15 pound gray Maine Coon cat, very affection, also very dramatic and vocal.
Hobbes - 23 pound brown tabby Maine Coon cat. He is funny and affectionate but has no manners at all. The Boss. Uncle Hobbes raises the stray kittens for me.
Beau - 15 pound orange tabby who must be part Persian. The King, the golden sunshine boy with a white pompom tail.
Catkin - a blue/cream tortoiseshell. She came to me from my hairdresser. Canned food junkie.
Chrissie - another blue/cream tortoiseshell with white markings. My cat sitter talked me into taking her. Very affectionate but startles easily and will bite and scratch. Tail flicks like a rattlesnake before she strikes.
Minou - about 5.5 pounds, gray tabby, tiny and elegant. A Broadway barn kitty, A fierce and efficient hunter, my chief rodent control officer.
